Isn't Backstage already doing this?
Backstage and Casting Networks are built for traditional casting: horizontal reels, headshots, long lead times. Vertical micro-drama shoots in days and is watched in 9:16. We're built for that format natively, not adapted to it.
Producers cast through their own network. Why would they use this?
Because a network doesn't scale. A production shooting several series a month runs out of people it already knows. We add availability, rate and language filters that a group chat can't give them.
A marketplace is useless without liquidity. How do you solve that?
Actor side first, and free. A profile costs nothing and takes three minutes, which is how a roster gets deep enough to be worth searching. We only charge when a booking actually happens.
Is acting in micro-drama a real acting job?
It's paid work on a shooting schedule, with a role, a director and a contract. The format is new. The job is not.
Why 12% commission?
It covers secure payment, holding the money until the shoot is done, dispute handling and the platform itself. No listing fee, no required subscription — we only earn when you do.
What if the platforms just cast in-house?
Most already do, and they still run out of faces. In-house casting teams are among the people who need a searchable roster the most, because they cast the highest volume.
How do I know I'll get paid?
The production funds the booking before the shoot. The money is held by the platform until both sides confirm the work is done, then it's transferred to you. No chasing invoices.
Is it free for actors?
Yes. Profile, showreels, availability and applications are free, permanently. Our only revenue is a 12% commission on bookings paid through the platform.
